Yellow Fever in Cameroon
23 Jan 2012
Since 2 November 2011, a yellow fever epidemic has been affecting the North Region of Cameroon. More than 20 cases of yellow fever have been reported in eight of the 15 districts of the North Region. WHO, who have yet to confirm the cases, will organise a mass vaccination campaign and develop guidelines for the management of yellow fever cases in collaboration with national authorities.
Advice for Travellers
Yellow fever vaccination is recommended for all travellers to Cameroon unless contraindicated.
As this infection is spread by the bite of an infected mosquito, travellers should take steps to avoid being bitten.
