Crimean-Congo Heamorrhagic Fever in United Kingdom

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, together with colleagues from Health Protection Scotland and the Health Protection Agency, are investigating a confirmed case of Crimean Congo Viral Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF) in a returning traveller.
The 38 year old male affected is being treated in complete isolation in the Brownlee specialist unit in Glasgow and all the appropriate infection control measures are in place. His condition is described as critical.
