Dengue Fever in India (Update)

Dengue fever cases continue to be reported in India. Around 16 000 cases have been recorded nationwide to date. The worst affected state is Karnatka in the south of the country with 5500 cases and 12 deaths reported.

Delhi has 2092 dengue cases and three confirmed deaths, Rajasthan 600 cases and two deaths, Gujarat 1471 cases and two deaths and Mumbai with 524 cases and 2 confirmed deaths.

Advice for Travellers

Avoidance of mosquito bites, particularly during daylight hours, by covering up with clothing, the use of bite avoidance measures such as repellent and bed nets is advised. Elimination of breeding sites around hotel rooms/houses is advised for longer term stays.
