Demonstrations in Thailand

Large political demonstrations are occurring in parts of Bangkok, with protesters demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Shinawatra.

Casualties, incidents of violence, and the use of tear gas and rubber bullets against protesters have been reported. Security forces have been deployed and granted additional powers. Curfews, checkpoints, and roadblocks may be implemented.
