Dengue Fever in Fiji

A media reportof 26 February 2017 advised of an outbreak of dengue fever in the Manitoba Province. According to the Ministry of Health 143 cases have been recorded in the first six weeks of 2017. Western Division recorded the highest number of cases (88), followed by Northern Division (30) and Central/Eastern Division (25).
Advice for Travellers
All travellers to endemic regions are potentially at risk of dengue fever and should be aware of this infection. Prevention relies on avoiding mosquito bites.
