Avian Influenza (China) (Egypt) (Update)

On 23 May 2017 the Hong Kong Centre for Health Protection issued its latest Avian Influenza Report.Link

China: From 13 May 2017 to 20 May 2017, 17 new human cases of avian influenza A (H7N9) have been reported from the following provinces: Hebei (6), Shandong (2 ), Anhui (1), Beijing (1), Chongqing (1), Hunan (1), Jiangsu (1), Shanxi (1), Shaanxi (1), Sichuan (1) and Zhejiang (1). This brings the Mainland China total of H7N9 cases to 697 since October 2016.

The global total of avian influenza A (H7N9) human cases from March 2013 to 20 May 2017 is 1503.

Egypt: 13 May 2017 to 20 May 2017, one new human case of avian influenza A (H5N1) was reported by the World Health Organization (WHO). In 2017, three cases have been reported in Egypt.
