Yellow Fever in Nigeria (Edo State) (Update 1)

WHO reportedthat from 22 September to 31 December 2018, a total of 146 suspected, 42 presumptive positive, and 32 confirmed cases, including 26 deaths have been reported across 15 of 18 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Edo State.

Advice to travellers

Yellow fever is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes that bite most often in daylight. Rigorous mosquito bite avoidance is advised at all times.

Yellow fever vaccination is advised for travellers to Nigeria (unless contraindicated).

Country requirement at entry (WHO): yellow fever vaccination certificate required for all travellers aged 9 months or over.
