Hotel Quarantine; Border Control Measures for Travellers Arriving in the UK

To stop the spread of potentially harmful variants of coronavirus (COVID-19), stricter measures have been implemented for travellers arriving in the UK.

From 15th February 2021 onwards, if you have visited or transited through a country where travel to the UK is banned in the last 10 days, you must:

  • quarantine for 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel
  • take a coronavirus (COVID-19) test on day 2, and day 8 of quarantining
  • follow the national lockdown rules for the UK 4 nations country you arrive in

Advice for Travellers

Before making travel plans, you should consider if your journey is essential and legally permitted.

Prior to permitted travel, you should check all of the following, and continue to check these during your trip as guidance may change at short notice:
