World Tuberculosis Day, 24th March 2021

22 Mar 2021

World Tuberculosis (TB) day takes place on 24th March each year to help raise public awareness and step up efforts to end the global TB pandemic.

TB remains one of the world’s deadliest infections. Every day, approximately 28,000 people become unwell with TB and nearly 4000 people lose their lives to this preventable and curable disease. An estimated 63 million lives have been saved since the year 2000 thanks to global efforts to combat TB.

The theme for World TB Day 2021 is ‘The Clock is Ticking’ to remind global leaders that time is running out to act on their commitments to #EndTB.
