Ebola in Democratic Republic of the Congo - end of outbreak

The ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak that began in February 2021 in North Kivi Province, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), was declared over on 3 May 2021. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus WHO Director General congratulated all involved in bringing the outbreak to an end.
This was DRC's twelfth EVD outbreak, in which there were 12 cases, 6 of whom died.
